Kaamadhenu Arts and Science College ensures effective curriculum planning and delivery through a well-planned and documented process including Academic calendar and conduct of continuous internal Assessment The institution is affiliated to Bharathiar University and follows the curriculum framed by the university. The university frequently revises and updates the curriculum from time to time and the institute implements them accordingly.

Curriculum Analysis

Curriculum analysis consists of course plan and execution. It is implemented through adherence to academic calendar, course allocation and course file preparation, and implementation process.

Adherence to Academic Calendar

Academic calendar is prepared in accordance with university guidelines. It is uploaded in the college website for the observance of faculty and students. It includes day order, working days, internal examination, tentative schedule of university examinations, academic and non-academic activities, list of holidays and other information. It serves as a guide to carry out institution’s yearly activities.

Course Allocation and File Preparation

Head of the departments conducts meeting with their faculty members every academic year to plan the activity calendar. Time table is prepared well in advance before the beginning of the semester, based on the subject knowledge, area of interest and experience of the faculty, course is allocated by the HoD and ensures the completion of courses in given time. Course file is prepared by the subject faculty before the commencement of classes that contains syllabus, assignment topics, seminar topics, subject notes, internal assessment, PPT presentation, multiple choice questions, google class rooms etc.

Teaching Learning Resources

During Covid-19 pandemic curriculum is delivered using online platforms like google meet and shared materials using whatsapp groups and google classrooms, now it is regular practice of using ICT tools as teaching aid for effective teaching learning process. The library is equipped with adequate books, e resources N-List and Delnet which helps students to strengthen the learning process.

Implementation Process

Induction program is conducted for the newly enrolled students at the starting of the first semester which helps them to familiarise with the important features of the higher education system, the functioning of the college and adherence to institutional rules. Bridge course is offered at the beginning of first year to fill the subject knowledge gaps and short term courses for the interested students to enhance the needed skills. Apart from regular teaching, experiential learning is facilitated through internships, projects, field trips and industrial visits. Guest lectures and seminars are engaged by experts from various fields to enrich curriculum. The faculty members are encouraged to attend seminars, conferences and workshops to enrich their professional skills. Teaching learning process is enhanced by providing opportunities to students to do seminars, assignments, and encouraged to participate in quizzes, presentations, group discussions and class tests. After the internal and university examinations, results are analysed and documented. Students scored less marks are identified and motivated to get better percentage. Students scored better marks are coached to get university ranks. Feedback is collected from stakeholders and analysed at regular intervals to improve the curriculum content and delivery.
