Our History

Kaamadhenu Arts and Science College, celebrating 25 Years of Excellence in Education, was established in 2001 under the Kaamadhenu Educational and Charitable Trust with the primary objective of providing quality higher education to rural youth. Located in Sathyamangalam, Erode District, the college stands amidst serene green fields, offering an ideal environment for learning and academic growth.

The institution is affiliated to Bharathiar University, recognized under UGC 2(f) and 12(B), and functions as a co-educational college committed to academic excellence and holistic development. The college earned NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation in 2024, and in recognition of its consistent progress, the UGC conferred Autonomous Status in 2025.

The foundation stone was laid by Shri.S.V.Balasubramaniam, the Chairman of Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey. Under the esteemed leadership of our Chairman, Shri.R.Perumalsamy, Secretary, Ms.P.Arunthathi, Joint Secretary, Dr.P.Malar Selvi, Principal, Dr.A.Gurumoorthi and Dean, Dr.V.J.Nirmala, the institution has consistently expanded in academic strength, infrastructure, research initiatives and student development.

The college presently offers 14 Undergraduate, 5 Postgraduate, and 4 Ph.D. programmes, supported by qualified and dedicated faculty members, ICT-enabled classrooms, and well-equipped departmental laboratories. The central library serves as a dynamic knowledge hub with an extensive collection of books, National and International Journals, Newspapers, and Digital Library resources to enhance academic pursuits.

A dedicated Placement Cell trains and guides students toward employment opportunities, while CA Foundation and TNPSC coaching, and training programmes in Tally Prime, Full Stack Development, Traditional Weaving and Design Techniques, and Power BI are offered to enhance students’ professional, technical, and life skills. An Incubation Centre within the college campus further fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and student start-up initiatives. Transport and hostel facilities, along with support provisions for differently-abled students, ensure a safe, inclusive, and student-friendly campus environment.

The institution has variety of clubs, cells, and active NSS units that nurture student talent, foster social responsibility, and promote personal and professional development. Annual functions and celebrations further enrich student life, creating a vibrant and cohesive institutional culture.
